Event description:

The International Panel on Deltas, Coastal Areas and Islands (IPDC) is an initiative of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, supported in its founding phase by Deltares, the Global Center on Adaptation, and the Delta Alliance.

Following the official launch of the IPDC during the UN 2023 Water Conference, this two-hour interactive session will take place at New York Water Week. During the event, policymakers, scientists and practitioners will discuss the challenges and solutions concerning accelerating climate adaptation in deltas, coastal areas and islands. The Future Water Global challenges report will form the basis of moderated discussions, where main challenges and relevant approaches for sustainable development in deltas, coastal areas and islands will be identified.
