Global Launch Event: GCA State and Trends in Adaptation Report 2022
Leading into the landmark ‘African COP’ at Sharm El-Sheikh, the GCA State and Trends in Adaptation Report 2022 offers a comprehensive set of recommendations for action, based on new evidence that Africa faces a serious and urgent shortfall in funding for climate adaptation, even as the costs of delayed action rise
The GCA State and Trends in Adaptation Report 2022 (STA22) completes the most comprehensive overview of the present and projected climate risks and adaptation solutions in Africa. STA22, the third in GCA’s series of annual flagship reports, maintains the dedicated focus on Africa from 2021 and expands its analysis. The report provides a deep dive into the economics and finance of climate change adaptation, with an additional focus on sectors, cross-sectoral themes and country profiles. It sets out the potential costs and benefits of adaptation interventions in Africa and includes new analysis on the impact of climate change on the private sector.
The global launch of STA22 will be a hybrid press briefing, featuring in-person participation from GCA’s global headquarters in Rotterdam with high-level discussants joining live online, and a livestream broadcast for media and the public.
