The Global Center on Adaptation acts as a solution broker, bringing together governments, private sector, civil society, intergovernmental bodies, and knowledge institutions that can address the obstacles slowing down adaptation action.
s a solutions broker, GCA adds value to adaptation programs and partners by bringing together multiple parties to accelerate action, reduce risk, deploy at scale innovative approaches, and access and package finance and resources. In our role as a catalyst for action and programs, we work with an extensive partnership network of stakeholders who have the drive and the influence to make positive change. We carefully blend and balance the best of many kinds of organizations – private, public and international – institutions to drive collective action on climate resilience and adaptation.
Through collaboration between stakeholders that each bring different perspectives, expertise, reach and resources, our programs deliver concrete and sustainable results and make a positive impact at all levels of society. We identify and mobilize sources of finance for adaptation programs and use our expertise to structure the funding in the best possible way to reduce cost, increase leverage, and attract private finance.
