Adaptation Platform
T
he Africa Business Adaptation Platform, an innovative collaboration between the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) and the World Economic Forum (WEF), harnesses the private sector’s power to drive transformative and scalable adaptation strategies.
With the United Nations estimating an annual adaptation financing gap of $187-359 billion, the Africa Business Adaptation Platform is charting a new course by mobilizing $5 billion in business-led adaptation solutions by 2030, setting a precedent for how the private sector can lead the way in building a more resilient and sustainable future.

Why the Africa Business Adaptation Platform?
Despite Africa’s vulnerability to climate change, less than 3% of global adaptation financing comes from the private sector. The Africa Business Adaptation Platform aims to change this by bridging critical gaps in finance, technology, and market awareness. It serves as the private sector window for the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP), enabling businesses to invest in adaptation innovations that yield significant returns while building resilience.
What does the Africa Business Adaptation Platform do?
