Latin America and Caribbean Regional Dialogue of the Climate Vulnerable Forum
The Dialogue aimed to identify and promote headline climate change policy priorities for vulnerable developing countries in the Latin America and Caribbean region.
Event description:
The Dialogue provided an opportunity for Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) member and observer countries in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region to share challenges, successes and experiences in climate change policy, and develop collective policy priorities.
The first in a series of CVF Regional Dialogues convened by the forum in 2021, the CVF LAC Regional Dialogue’s outcomes will feed into the global deliberations of the CVF ahead of and during the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) and contribute to the development of global momentum for the shared agenda of climate threatened nations throughout 2021.
The CVF LAC Regional Dialogue was held in an online/virtual format and included a meeting of experts on 23 June 2021, preparatory to its ministerial segment on 24 June 2021. A dedicated half-day training for the CVF’s regional members and observers, organized by United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), was held on the morning of 24 June.
The Global Center on Adaptation is a managing partner of the CVF.
