griTech Analytics developed a crop and soil management tool which leverages AI-powered satellite imagery data analytics and data from their solar-powered Internet of Things (IoT) sensors to reverse soil degradation by scanning nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium (NPK), moisture, fertility, and PH levels of the soil, and detecting crop pests and diseases early. Through this data, the farmer can understand and start the healing journey of their soil. Farmers who work with AgriTech Analytics on average benefit from an increase in produce by 57% within three to six months and after a year, a 75% increase in harvest.
AgriTech Analytics is one of the 33 winners being supported across 19 countries by the 2022 African Youth Adaptation Solutions Challenge (YouthADAPT Challenge), an annual competition and awards program that supports youth-led enterprises with innovative climate adaptation and resilience solutions. The YouthADAPT Challenge is jointly organized by the Global Center on Adaptation and the African Development Bank as part of the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP). YouthADAPT has created over 8,500 direct and indirect jobs and driven 123% increase in revenues. The ambition of the program is to scale up support to 10,000 enterprises. Find out more
