The main objective of this consultation is to validate the climate risks and adaptation options for the upcoming water and wastewater infrastructure in Naivasha. This meeting is critical to inform the needs and location of the (waste)water infrastructure network, which is examined by the Global Center on Adaptation as part of the technical assistance it is facilitating for the Kenya Naivasha Bulk Water and Sanitation Infrastructure Project for the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation, Kenya (MoWSI).

The main topics for discussion are:

  • Climate impacts and risks to (waste)water treatment and distribution assets.
  • Indirect risks to the local community’s employment and water supply.
  • Context specific adaptation options.
