In its role as the global solutions broker for adaptation action, the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) is committed to scaling up support to and best practices from Kenya. Through the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP), GCA is developing a pipeline of investments for resilient infrastructure in Kenya, leveraging digital tools to support the food security and nutrition of farmers and pastoralists, unlocking climate finance, creating green adaptation jobs, and supporting Kenyan entrepreneurs scale up business solutions for climate resilient infrastructure in Kenya.
GCA has instituted Locally Led Adaptation as a core program area and cross-cutting approach in its work to scale and accelerate adaptation action across its work in Africa. Decades of evidence and learning in the development and environment sectors have shown that when enabled, local communities and individuals are very effective leaders in finding and implementing solutions to address local challenges.
