In 2025, the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) built upon the success of the Pilot Youth Academy on Climate Adaptation and Leadership by hosting the Pan-African Youth Academy on Climate Adaptation and Leadership, a training-of-trainers program designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to replicate climate adaptation training in their home countries. The Academy was co-organized by GCA, the Kenya School of Government, the University of Nairobi, the University of Groningen, and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, with the objective of equipping young people representing 50 countries, including 46 African countries across four continents, with the capacity to serve as climate adaptation leaders and trainers able to replicate the program in their respective countries.
