Climate Smart Agriculture Manual and Training Guidelines Stakeholder validation meeting

The Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) Manual and Training Guidelines Validation meeting brought together stakeholders from the public and private sectors to validate the developed Climate Smart Agriculture Manual and Training guidelines for Zambia.

Event description

The Government of the Republic of Zambia through the Ministry of Agriculture is implementing the Zambia Growth Opportunities (ZAMGRO) Program for Results (PforR) with financial support from the World Bank and the Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA).

Part of the work under ZAMGRO involves the development of an updated Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) Manual and Training Guidelines that conform to the local context. To this end, the Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with GCA and supported by the Indaba Agricultural Policy Research Institute (IAPRI), held a stakeholders validation meeting on 15th August 2023.

The agenda of the meeting was to validate the draft CSA Manual and the Training Guidelines that can be used by all stakeholders working on CSA-related activities.

To also support the Ministry of Agriculture’s efforts, the first two Training of Trainers will be supported by GCA and will involve selected Government personnel from all the 10 provinces of Zambia making the two trainings representative at the national level. The first set of training took place from the 1st to 8th September 2023 while the second set took place from 11th to 15th September 2023.
