Digital Climate Advisory Services (DCAS) Training to Support Climate Resilience in Smallholder Agriculture in Southern Africa
This two-day training event aimed to facilitate the sharing of knowledge, best practices, and experiences, as well as to explore the latest innovations and approaches that promote the adoption of Digital Climate Advisory Services (DCAS) in Southern Africa.

On behalf of the Global Center on Adaptation and the African Development Bank, Weather Impact and AquaLinks brought together public and private high-level key change makers from the Southern African region with the capacity to implement and scale up Digital Climate Advisory Services (DCAS). The two-day training event aimed to facilitate the sharing of knowledge, best practices, and experiences as well as explore the latest innovations and approaches that promote the adoption of DCAS in the region.
The hybrid training featured plenary sessions, panel discussions, and workshops, with a focus on the practical applications, challenges, and opportunities in developing, marketing, and maintaining DCAS.
Food security is a key pillar under the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP). Launched in 2021, AAAP is a joint initiative of the African Development Bank and the Global Center on Adaptation which aims to mobilize $25 billion, over five years, to accelerate and scale climate adaptation action across the continent. AAAP has already mainstreamed adaptation solutions into over $5.4 billion of investments in climate adaptation in Africa. These investments are vital for financing adaptation solutions in countries that are most exposed to the threats of climate change.

Em nome do Centro Global de Adaptação (GCA) e do Banco Africano de Desenvolvimento (AfDB), é um prazer para a Weather Impact e AquaLinks reunir os principais agentes de mudança públicos e privados de alto nível da região da África Austral que têm a capacidade de implementar e ampliar o DCAS. O evento de treinamento de dois dias visa facilitar o compartilhamento de conhecimento, melhores práticas e experiências, bem como explorar as últimas inovações e abordagens que promovem a adoção do DCAS na região.
O treinamento contará com sessões plenárias, painéis de discussão e workshops, com foco no que são aplicações práticas e quais são os desafios e oportunidades no desenvolvimento, marketing e manutenção do DCAS. Será um evento híbrido que permite a participação presencial e online.
