High Level Intergenerational Dialogue on Accelerating Adaptation
Event Description
The High-Level Intergenerational Dialogue co-convened by the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) brought together global leaders including H.E. Ban Ki-moon and President Macky Sall, young people and students from across Kenya to drive adaptation action. The intergenerational dialogue served to:
- Empower African youth leadership and unlock adaptation jobs and youth entrepreneurship.
- Champion adaptation education and youth views in adaptation policies.
- Connect young people with global leaders to foster collaboration and build climate resilient economies across Africa.
Format
The High-Level Dialogue featured panel interventions from global leaders, young people including students and entrepreneurs, as well as policy- and decision-makers.
Guiding questions:
- What is the role of adaptation education and in preparing the new generation of leaders for adaptation action?
- What are the priorities to empower young people to unleash their full potential and drive adaptation solutions?
- How can African youth be empowered to become drivers of innovation and job creation?
