Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) can play a powerful role in strengthening climate resilience in infrastructure, but only if climate risks are properly understood, allocated, and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
This report, Climate Risks Allocation in Public-Private Partnerships: A Practical Introduction, developed by the Global Center on Adaptation through the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP), shares practical guidance and lessons learned from supporting resilient transport investments in Gabon.
Drawing on experience from the technical assistance to the Transgabonaise Road project in collaboration with the Africa Development Bank, the report explores how climate resilience can be embedded into PPP structuring, risk allocation, financing, and long-term asset management to support more sustainable and resilient infrastructure investments.
