This is a private event

Nairobi, Kenya

21 – 24 July 2025, 9:00

This even aims to build the capacity of practitioners to mainstream climate resilience in infrastructure development, with a particular emphasis on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in the water, energy, ICT, and transport sectors.

Event description

GCA developed a Masterclass for Climate Resilient Infrastructure PPPS to build capacity to mainstream adaptation and resilience into PPP projects in Africa. A component of partnership between GCA and the University of Nairobi (UoN) on Enhancing and Scaling up Climate Adaptation for Resilient Infrastructure in Kenya, focused on the institutionalization of this masterclass within the UoN academic system, with overall aim of embedding and sustaining the Masterclass in-country.

Under the subgrant UoN and GCA delivered two masterclasses in Nairobi, and UoN developed an institutionalization strategy to scale-up implementation of the Masterclasses within the UoN academic system. UoN will be hosting and delivering their first independent changemaker’s school 21 -24 July, 2025, a key milestone in implementing their institutionalization strategy.

The changemakers’ masterclass is not a GCA-hosted event, but uses knowledge modules and training stemming from the GCA and UoN partnership and is a good example of how GCA’s work is being institutionalised and embedded in-country for lasting impact.
