Second Climate Risk Dialogue for “Integrated Adaptation Options for Transport, Energy and Water Sectors in The Gambia”
GCA is hosting a series of three Multi-Stakeholder Dialogues to present preliminary findings and gather feedback for further refinement. These engagements, planned throughout 2025, are essential to validate and enhance the results of these activities.
Event description
The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) is supporting the World Bank in integrating impact-based adaptation solutions to enhance resilience in The Gambia Infrastructure Project (P504762) for the transport and energy sectors. This technical assistance includes a detailed Climate Risk Assessment of infrastructure and the identification and cost-based prioritization of adaptation and resilience options to secure the investment against key climate risks. Royal HaskoningDHV, Cityscape Associates and CameronClimate have been engaged by GCA to carry out these activities.
In parallel, GCA is hosting a series of three Multi-Stakeholder Dialogues to present preliminary findings and gather feedback for further refinement. These engagements, planned throughout 2025, are essential to validate and enhance the results of these activities.
The objectives of the Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue on Climate Risks are to:
- Present, validate and discuss the results of the climate risk assessment and assessment of adaptation options;
- Further discuss opportunities to strengthen the enabling environment (policy, governance) to support implementation of adaptation measures in the transport and water resource sectors.
