Validation Workshop on Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) Compendium for Urban Resilience in Kenya

This workshop aims to present the recommendations from the Compendium to create an enabling environment for NbS development at every stage of the project cycle and discuss the challenges and critical paths of implementing NbS across Kenyan cities.

Event description

The Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA) is collaborating with the World Bank (WB) to integrate a stronger Nature-based Solutions (NbS) lens to the WB-financed Second Kenya Urban Support Program (KUSP2) that is being implemented by the State Department for Housing and Urban Development (SDHUD) in collaboration the Council of Governors (CoG). As part of this initiative, GCA has engaged SUEZ Consulting, in joint venture with Alpex Consulting Africa Limited (ACAL), to deliver consultancy services for the project: Developing an NbS
Compendium for Urban Resilience in Kenya. 
 
The objective of the initiative is to provide the World Bank project task team and, through the WB, to SDHUD with actionable guidance to support project implementation on prioritizing, implementing, and operating and maintaining various Nature-based Solutions (NbS) that contribute to climate resilience of urban environments in Kenyan cities and municipalities. The findings were collected in the NbS Compendium.
