The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA), in partnership with the International Coalition on Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI) and in consultation with local experts and institutions, is pleased to release Gender-Responsive and Socially Inclusive Climate-resilient Infrastructure: A Practitioner’s User Guide on Incorporating Gender (available in English and Bangla), alongside a companion Case Study Booklet and appendices with detailed applications for the transport and energy sectors.

This report presents healthcare as a complex system of systems—a network of interdependent components including water, energy, waste, digital and transport services, all susceptible to climate-related hazards. This interconnectedness makes health infrastructure especially vulnerable to climate change, as disruptions in one area can trigger cascading effects across the entire system. By mapping these interdependencies, this report identifies targeted adaptation strategies to prevent such chain reactions and ensure the continuous delivery of healthcare services.

Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) have a critical role to play in delivering climate-resilient infrastructure, particularly for long-term regional transport investments exposed to growing climate risks. This report, Technical Guidelines for Climate-Informed Public-Private Partnerships along the Abidjan - Lagos Corridor, developed by the Global Center on Adaptation through the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP), provides a detailed analysis of climate risks and practical adaptation options to support governments and financial partners in developing climate-informed PPPs throughout the design and implementation phases. The report explores how resilience measures, including their costs and benefits, can be integrated into PPP frameworks and technical specifications over the project lifecycle.

Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) can play a powerful role in strengthening climate resilience in infrastructure,  but only if climate risks are properly understood, allocated, and managed throughout the project lifecycle. This report, Climate Risks Allocation in Public-Private Partnerships: A Practical Introduction, developed by the Global Center on Adaptation through the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP), shares practical guidance and lessons learned from supporting resilient transport investments in Gabon.

This Stress Test User Guide for Resilient Infrastructure is part of GCA Learning from Practice series and has been developed through GCA partnership with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands (MIenW). Building on practical experiences from the Netherlands, Ghana, and Bangladesh, the guide provides a step-by-step framework to support countries in assessing climate risks to infrastructure systems, identifying adaptation needs, and prioritizing resilient investments.

A revolution in the planning, design, financing, and delivery of infrastructure is urgently needed to meet the acute needs of our warming world.

Consistent standards, codes, guidance documents and rating systems (collectively “standards”) underpin efforts to ensure that infrastructure is resilient to climate change.
